TSCM

Who are we

The 'Masters' Section caters for adults aged 19 and over, who wish to train in a disciplined and structured way, with the possibility of competing in various Club, County and Open Masters events.

When and Where we Train

TSCMThe Masters train on Tuesday evenings at Teddington Pool, and Thursday evenings at Feltham Airparks Pool. Both sessions are from 9pm - 10pm. Wednesday evening sessions, from 8:30pm - 9:30pm at the Lady Eleanor Holles School Pool in Hampton, provides an alternative evening session with an optional opportunity for focussed technique improvement, particularly useful for those who have not swum at club level for some time. The Saturday morning session at Feltham Airparks Pool from 7 - 8:30am provides the opportunity for a longer session, building stamina for breakfast at the local Tesco's.

Still Growing

Numbers have risen steadily since the Masters Section formed in 1998, and membership now stands at over 50 swimmers. For competitions the team is supplemented by some of the younger, and quicker 'Masters' who still train with the main Club squad.

In Competition

TSCMThe Masters Section has become increasingly successful in competition across a good cross-section of age groups. We have finished as runners-up to Barnet Copthall at the last three Middlesex Masters Competitions, and have been represented at recent Southern Counties and National Masters events. Our biggest success to date was winning the Basingstoke Masters Aquadrome Inaugural Meet in Sept 2002, where we beat 39 other teams. We have regularly achieved a top three placing out of over sixty visiting teams at the Bracknell Masters Open, and have been well placed at the Milton Keynes Masters Open over the past few years. We have also sent a small team to compete in the Isle of Wight Masters for the last four years, where success in the pool has been complemented with a thoroughly enjoyable weekend away!

Come and Join Us

Teddington is a friendly, family Club, with the emphasis on participation. Many of the Masters have children swimming in the Club, and occasionally we even find ourselves competing with, or against our children! If you are a reasonable swimmer, who is able to train hard for a one-hour session, and would like to try us out, then either come down one to any of the sessions and introduce yourself, or contact us for more information.
